ASICS Price Tracker

ASICS is a Japanese brand for running shoes and sports apparel, known for models such as the GEL-Kayano and GEL-Nimbus. When a new version is released, prices for the previous one often drop. SaleAlarm tracks your ASICS shoe and emails you when its price falls.

What you should know about ASICS

ASICS traces its roots to a sports-shoe business Kihachiro Onitsuka set up in Kobe, Japan, in 1949; today's company was formed by a merger in 1977, and its name abbreviates the Latin “anima sana in corpore sano” – a sound mind in a sound body. It's best known for running shoes: GEL cushioning arrived in 1986 and the first GEL-KAYANO in 1993. asics.com has separate stores for the US and the UK, and the brand runs its own shops in cities including London and New York.

Prices move with seasonal sales, promotions such as Black Friday and the sale section of the site, and a running shoe usually gets cheaper once its successor is out. The free OneASICS membership offers perks that vary by country – free shipping, member-only offers, early access to some products and a birthday discount among them. Note that, according to the membership terms, some perks are only communicated if you opt in to ASICS emails.

Many ASICS running shoes come in more than one width – standard plus wide, extra wide or narrow versions – and each width is listed separately with its own stock. A sale on the standard version doesn't mean the wide one is reduced too, so set your alert on the exact width, colour and size you wear. Older colourways of a current model can also be reduced while the newest ones stay at full price.

    When does ASICS have sales?

    Saving tips for ASICS

    • Running shoe models are updated roughly once a year. If the previous version suits you, track it – the reduction usually comes shortly after the new release.

    • Compare with running specialists and big sports retailers – Fleet Feet or Dick's Sporting Goods in the US, Runners Need or Sportsshoes.com in the UK. They set their own promotions, and a second alarm on the same shoe shows you where it drops first.

    • Join OneASICS before you buy and opt in to emails if you want every perk: membership is free, and depending on your country it can add free shipping or a birthday discount on top of a reduced price.
