Costco Price Tracker

Costco is a membership warehouse club operating in the US, Canada, the UK and other countries. Online prices for electronics, appliances and household goods change with monthly member offers and seasonal promotions. SaleAlarm monitors the Costco product you're considering and emails you when it gets cheaper.

What you should know about Costco

Costco traces its roots to Price Club, which opened in San Diego in 1976; the first Costco warehouse opened in Seattle in 1983, and the company is now based in Issaquah, Washington. It sells groceries in bulk, electronics, appliances, furniture and household goods to paying members, and its Kirkland Signature house brand accounts for nearly a third of sales. The website, costco.com, offers a wider selection of furniture and appliances than fits in a warehouse, delivered to your home.

Shopping at Costco normally requires a membership – Gold Star, Business or Executive, the last with an annual reward on purchases. Non-members can order on costco.com but pay a 5% surcharge on most items. Online prices include shipping and handling, so they often differ from warehouse prices, and Costco doesn't match other retailers. It does, however, adjust the price of a costco.com order if the item gets cheaper within 30 days of purchase.

That 30-day rule makes a price alert useful even after you've ordered: keep tracking the TV, mattress or appliance you bought, and if costco.com lowers the price within the window, you can request the difference. Before buying, an alert shows you whether a member savings price is genuinely lower than usual. Many online promotions run for fixed dates or only while supplies last, so reacting quickly can matter.

    Saving tips for Costco

    • Costco's member savings rotate every few weeks. For big purchases such as TVs or appliances, track the product for a while before you buy – the next offer may be just around the corner.

    • Don't compare costco.com prices directly with your local warehouse: online prices include shipping and handling, and Costco won't adjust an online order to a warehouse price.

    • For promotions with fixed dates, such as holiday savings events, submit any price adjustment request while the promotion is still running – requests made after it ends may be denied.
