Walmart Price Tracker

Walmart regularly lowers prices on individual items through its Rollback promotions and runs large deal events throughout the year. SaleAlarm monitors the Walmart product you choose and sends you an email when the price goes down.

What you should know about Walmart

Walmart was founded in 1962 by Sam and Bud Walton in Rogers, Arkansas, and is headquartered nearby in Bentonville. Besides its supercenters and Neighborhood Markets, it runs walmart.com, where Walmart's own inventory sits next to a Marketplace for third-party sellers that launched in 2009 and grew after Walmart bought Jet.com in 2016. Many online orders can be picked up at a local store, and the company also owns Sam's Club, a warehouse chain with its own membership and prices.

Alongside Rollbacks and clearance, Walmart now runs its own multi-day sales such as Walmart Deals, as well as the usual holiday promotions. Walmart+, the paid membership launched in 2020, gives members early online access to these events. On Marketplace listings, the price is set by the third-party seller, not by Walmart, so those offers can move independently of Walmart's own pricing.

On walmart.com, sizes, pack counts and colors of the same item often have separate prices, and a Rollback may apply to only one of them – so set your alert on the exact variant you want. For bigger purchases such as TVs, vacuums or patio furniture, tracking an item for a few weeks before a sale event shows you whether the event price is genuinely lower than before, or simply the usual price with a sale badge.

    Saving tips for Walmart

    • Rollback prices are temporary. If the item you want isn't on Rollback right now, set an alarm – reductions often come back, especially around back-to-school season and Black Friday.

    • Check the "Sold and shipped by" line on the product page. A Marketplace offer can be cheaper than Walmart's own, but shipping costs and return conditions may differ because they're set by that seller.

    • If you shop at Walmart regularly, consider whether Walmart+ pays off for you: members get early online access to big events such as Walmart Deals, which matters when popular items sell out quickly.
