Marquis Mills Converse founded the Converse Rubber Shoe Company in Malden, Massachusetts, in 1908. Its All Star basketball shoe followed in 1917, and Chuck Taylor's signature was added to the ankle patch in 1932. Nike bought Converse in 2003, and the brand is headquartered at Lovejoy Wharf in Boston. Alongside the Chuck Taylor All Star and the Chuck 70, the range includes Jack Purcell and One Star.
