What you should know about SHEIN

SHEIN was founded in Nanjing, China, in 2008 and is now headquartered in Singapore. It sells low-priced women's, men's and kids' fashion, plus shoes, beauty and home items, and adds new styles every day. US shoppers buy on us.shein.com and UK shoppers on uk.shein.com, each with its own prices, delivery terms and offers. Alongside SHEIN's own products, the site also works as a marketplace on which third-party sellers list their items.

Prices move constantly with Flash Sale slots, app-only coupons and SHEIN Points, which you collect for purchases and activities such as reviews and can redeem against part of an order. In the US there is also SHEIN CLUB, a paid membership with extra discounts that don't apply to every item. And after the US ended duty-free entry for low-value parcels from China in 2025, SHEIN announced price increases for US customers – one more reason to watch how prices develop over time.

SHEIN often lists the same piece in several colours, or as near-identical items from different sellers, each with its own price. Set the alarm on the exact listing and colour you want rather than on a lookalike. Flash prices end quickly and popular sizes sell out, so an email on the day the price drops gives you a fair chance to order before your size is gone.

    When does SHEIN have sales?

These are the most important sale periods for SHEIN. Set your alarm a few weeks before – then you know the normal price and can recognise a real discount.

    Saving tips for SHEIN

    • Fast-fashion items are often reduced within a few weeks of launch. If you're not in a hurry, set an alarm and wait for the first price drop – but don't wait too long, popular sizes sell out.

    • Coupons and Points are only applied at checkout, and member discounts exclude some items. After your alert, compare the final basket total rather than the price on the product page.

    • Check who sells the item: marketplace listings from third-party sellers can come with different delivery times and return conditions from the items SHEIN ships itself.
