LG Electronics began in 1958 as GoldStar in South Korea and is headquartered in Seoul. Since leaving the phone business in 2021, it has concentrated on TVs, home appliances, monitors, gram laptops and audio. LG.com sells directly to consumers in both the US and the UK; the American business is run from LG's North American headquarters in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey. The same models are also stocked by retailers such as Best Buy, Currys or John Lewis.
Prices on LG.com move with offers you won't find everywhere. In the US, MyLG members collect Rewards points – 100 points are worth $1 on eligible products – and discount programs cover students and teachers, the military and veterans, nurses and medical staff, first responders and government workers. In the UK, members get a welcome voucher, a standing 2% discount and free delivery, alongside LG Member Days, a Student Shop, a Key Worker Shop and Trade-Up offers.
LG splits its ranges finely: OLED evo, QNED and UHD TVs come in many screen sizes, and fridges or washers often appear in several finishes, each with its own price. Set your alert on the exact model number and size you want. It also helps that TVs sold from 2024 onwards are covered by LG's webOS Re:New programme, with up to four major software upgrades over five years, so a reduced recent model needn't feel outdated soon.
