Dell Rewards is free and earns credit towards future orders, and students and teachers get extra discounts. Dell Outlet sells certified refurbished and overstock machines.
That makes an alert useful even after you've ordered. Keep tracking the exact configuration you bought – the same model name can hide several processor, memory and display options – and if the price falls within the guarantee period, you can claim the difference through Dell's customer support. Before you buy, an alert also shows whether a coupon or limited-time deal really undercuts the usual price.
