What you should know about Xbox Store
The Xbox Store is Microsoft's shop for digital games for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and Windows PCs, along with add-ons, in-game currency and Game Pass subscriptions. You can use it on xbox.com, on the console or in the Xbox app; US accounts see prices in dollars and UK accounts in pounds. Games with the Xbox Play Anywhere label are bought once and played on both console and PC, and Smart Delivery gives you the version that suits your console.
The Sales & Specials page lists 'This week's digital game deals', which rotate every week, and bigger events such as Black Friday add more. Game Pass comes in three plans – Essential, Premium and Ultimate – plus PC Game Pass, and every plan unlocks member discounts on games. Each plan also earns Microsoft Rewards points, with higher tiers earning more, and points can be spent directly on one-off Microsoft Store purchases, though not on subscriptions.
Most big games come in several editions – Standard, Deluxe, Gold or Ultimate – each with its own price and its own discount, and add-ons, season passes and bundles are sold separately. SaleAlarm follows the price on the product page you choose, so set the alert on the edition you actually want. Then there's no need to scan the weekly deals list: you get an email when that price drops, whether through a weekly deal, a publisher sale or a seasonal event.

Saving tips for Xbox Store
Before buying a game, check whether it's included in Game Pass. If not, track it – Xbox games are reduced regularly.
Games leave the Game Pass library regularly, and Xbox announces departures in advance. If you're playing something through Game Pass and want to keep it, check its price before it goes: as a member you can use your discount to buy it, and if it still costs too much, a price alert takes over from there.
Collect Microsoft Rewards points while you wait. They can be spent directly on one-off purchases in the Microsoft Store – not on subscriptions, and only above a minimum purchase amount – so a sale price can shrink a little further when your alert arrives.
