What you should know about RH (Restoration Hardware)
RH began as Restoration Hardware, founded in 1979 by Stephen Gordon in Eureka, California, when he couldn't find good hardware while restoring a Victorian house. Under Gary Friedman, who joined as CEO in 2001, it moved upmarket into large design galleries, many with restaurants, and now trades as RH from Corte Madera, California. In the UK it opened RH England at Aynho Park in 2023 and RH London in Mayfair in 2026, runs a UK outlet store and has a UK version of rh.com.
Pricing revolves around the RH Members Program: for an annual fee, members get a set discount every day on most of the range, plus free interior design services, and RH says members account for almost all sales in its core business. Outlet purchases are excluded; the RH Outlet stores mainly sell returned items, along with some discontinued and overstock pieces. On top of that, RH runs sale events, so even the member price can drop further.
Sofas, beds and tables come in many sizes, fabrics and finishes, and each configuration has its own price. Choose your fabric and finish first, using RH's swatches, then set your alert on that exact configuration. SaleAlarm checks the page regularly and emails you when the price drops, which helps you time a large purchase without watching every sale event, and shows you whether a reduction reaches the version you actually want.

Saving tips for RH (Restoration Hardware)
RH offers a paid membership with discounts on many items. Compare the member price with the regular price and with sale events before deciding whether it's worth it.
The membership doesn't apply to outlet purchases, Trade or Contract orders, or items bought directly from Waterworks, the bath brand RH owns. If those are what you plan to buy, the fee won't pay off, whatever the member price says.
RH runs separate country sites: orders for Canadian addresses, for example, have to go through the Canadian site. In the UK, set your alert on the product page of rh.com's UK version, not the US one, so you follow the price you would actually pay.
