Overstock goes back to 1999, when Patrick Byrne and Jason Lindsey took over a bankrupt discount retailer and renamed it; early on it sold surplus stock, including inventory from failed dot-com companies. In 2023 the company bought the Bed Bath & Beyond brand and turned its web shop into bedbathandbeyond.com, then relaunched overstock.com as a separate store in March 2024. Both belong to the same company, which trades as Bed Bath & Beyond. Shipping covers US addresses only, so UK shoppers can't order directly.
The relaunched store focuses on deeply discounted furniture, rugs, décor and bedding, plus jewelry, apparel and a Designer section with luxury labels. Deals are bundled into themed and seasonal sales and The Vault, a page of top deals by category. Coupons are site-specific, and Overstock doesn't price-match competitors. The Overstock Credit Card adds free shipping without a minimum, special financing and cardholder offers, and it also works at Bed Bath & Beyond and buybuy BABY.
Because there's no price matching, a lower price only helps you once it shows up on overstock.com itself. Rugs show why tracking the right page matters: one design often comes in many sizes and shapes, each priced separately, and a sale may cut only some of them. Set your alert on the exact size or color you want. SaleAlarm checks it regularly and emails you when that price drops, even when the cut comes between the big sale events.
